Directions
We meet on the 2nd Floor of Heartline Radio Center. The building is wheelchair accessible with a ramp in the lobby leading to the lift.
There are stairs on the opposite side of the building across from the main lobby. From either side, when you get to the 2nd floor, you will need to walk to the middle of the hall.
Free parking is available on-site but because there are other churches meeting in the same building, the parking lot starts filling up closer to 10AM.
What to expect at a
Sunday Service
Morning Refreshments
Starting 9:15AM, we serve coffee and light refreshments to encourage earlier arrival and fellowship. These refreshments are put away during the service so we could have one less distraction, and put out again after the service to encourage fellowship.
Order of Service
We start our service at 10AM, often led by one of our elders. Make sure to take one of the paper service guides (or access it online if you prefer viewing it on your tablet or phone). We read scripture, sing songs, offer prayers of praise, confession and petition, give offering and give thanks. After the sermon, we have times for reflection and a song that encapsulates the theme of the sermon. We also like to end our time together by praying for one another, where everyone is encouraged to turn to 1-2 people around them and take turns praying for each other based on the theme of the sermon. After one final moment of silent reflection, we share announcements and receive the benediction.
Music
We try to have a blend of old hymns and new hymns in the music and songs we sing. We love to hear one another’s voice as we sing so we make sure that the music does not overpower our voices but encourages us to lift up our voices. We choose songs that utilize the teaching function of music: songs that clearly express important gospel truths written to singable, memorable melodies that even our children can read and sing along, for the benefit of discussion with parents during family devotion times at home.
Sermons
Our sermons are expositional, meaning that the main point of the sermon will be the main point that is clearly seen in the particular bible passage that was selected for that Sunday. Our sermons can be anywhere from 45-60 minutes as the preacher helps us interact with the text and encourages to reflect on various truths of God and our hearts. You can expect to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ from every passage as Jesus himself explained that all of scripture points to him: how he saves sinners by his life, death and resurrection.
Children
We encourage parents to help their children be as engaged as possible during our service. Before the sermon, children from kindergarten to Grade 6 are dismissed to go with their Children’s Ministry teachers. Babies are welcome to stay with us throughout the whole service–we don’t mind the noise they might make. But for mothers who need the nursery, one classroom is available to use where we also provide the sermon audio feed.
Teens
We do not provide a separate teens service. Instead of separating families for worship, we want our children to grow up watching older saints sing, pray, read, and listen as a model and context for our children to learn to do so themselves. We know it can be challenging at first, especially during the sermon, but we have seen parents and teens who have persisted in hearing sermons and discussing the sermon together have spiritually benefited from hearing God’s Word preached faithfully week in and week out.
Additional Information
We are a fairly young congregation and are predominantly Indonesian. Our Sunday attendance is anywhere from 60-100 people. People usually dress business to smart-casual, from jeans to suit jackets. We will most likely introduce ourselves to you but we also encourage visitors to boldly introduce themselves.
